The Nile Project

Crossing cultural borders to share borders for life: Access to water and conflict prevention

project
S4
Wednesday, June 15, 2016 - 09:30 to 10:45

The Nile Project uses music to show the potential of citizen-based collaborations to transform cross-cultural attitudes and solve intractable trans-boundary water conflicts. What can we learn from these Nile Project musicians about dialogue and conflict transformation? This session will include a panel of experts in conflict prevention, the water-energy-food nexus, climate change, working with fragile states, migration and peacebuilding.

They will discuss how collaboration could contribute to creating a more favourable environment for fruitful trans-boundary water cooperation. Speakers summarise the key challenges and the need for a comprehensive approach, as well as explore the necessary ingredients required for successful cross-cultural collaboration.
