Wednesday, June 7, 2017 - 09:30 to 10:45
Social Cash Transfers may offer opportunities to build resilience while reducing inequalities in Malawi. This session will explore the links of social policy and humanitarian interventions for reducing inequalities and building resilience in one of the poorest countries of the world. Speakers will include Harry Mwamlima (Ministry of Economic Planning, Malawi), members of the EU Delegation to Malawi and experts in the sector (DEVCO & ECHO). This debate is taking place in the context of the design of a new Malawi National Social Support Programme (MNSSP) and it will be feeding into the programming of a new €50 million social policy and resilience programme managed by the EU Delegation to Malawi.
