How to create decent jobs in the global supply chains?

Sharing concrete examples on creating decent jobs along the value chain

The session will focus on concrete actions that are currently being implemented to create decent jobs and improve working conditions in global supply chains. Two International Labour Organization flagship programmes will be presented: Better Work, focussing on the garment sector, and SCORE, focusing on increasing productivity and job quality in SMEs. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization will present its initiatives focusing on adding value to agricultural commodities. DG DEVCO will share its experience in promoting decent work in global value chains, particularly in the garment sector. A dialogue will then unfold involving the African, Caribbean and Pacific Secretariat and the participants.
