Investing in capabilities and norm change to transform adolescent girls’ lives

Findings from ODI: Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE) and Advancing Learning and Innovation on Gender Norms (ALIGN)

The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) is a global thought leader on how to support adolescent girls’ wellbeing and empowerment.

GAGE is a 9-year longitudinal research programme producing cutting-edge evidence on good-practice programmes and policies on adolescent girls in the Global South. We address questions of effectiveness, timing, intensity, duration and legacy effects. GAGE is a consortium hosted by ODI and funded by UK aid from the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

ALIGN is a 4-year programme establishing a community of practice and digital platform for shared learning on gender norms. By sharing information and facilitating mutual learning, we ensure knowledge on norm change contributes to sustainable gender justice. ALIGN is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and led by ODI.
