We cannot conceive quality education if it is not gender-transformative. Gender transformative education utilises all parts of a system -policies, pedagogies, communities- to transform stereotypes, attitudes, norms and practices. How? By challenging power relations, rethinking gender norms and binaries, and raising critical consciousness about the root causes of inequality and systems of oppression. So, what is a gender-transformative approach? It is changing reality by tackling the root causes of gender inequality. A gender-transformative approach is everyone’s business.
