Energy efficiency and energy saving is a top priority for the Ukrainian government and citizens for many reasons: 1) strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence; 2) reduce energy bills esp. on heating and hot water to counter sharp increase in energy prices over the past 5 years; 3) reduce excessive wastage of energy in low-efficient buildings; 4) improve comfort of living of Ukrainian citizens; and 5) contribute to the successful implementation of the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal). Residential buildings consume around 35-40% of all primary energy in the country.
