A gradual change in the coordination of EU actions in favor of biodiversity in Central Africa has been taking place over the last three decades. Originally, these cells were responsible for the execution of interventions aimed at a group of poorly supported protected areas with a limited number of objectives.

Nowadays, the increased number of donors, the widening of geographical and thematic perimeters at the level of the so-called "integrated landscape", the advent of public-private partnerships and the multiplication of the coordination units have considerably modified their role.

This session wants to nourish a vivid debate on the structural evolution, the relations with beneficiaries, the added-value and the new operational strategies to be adopted, to support a better regional governance and environmental diplomacy.
