Water is an essential asset and precondition for development. Maintaining this environmental service requires the conservation of healthy and resilient ecosystems. The EUROCLIMA+ project ”water sowing and harvesting in Costa Rica and Peru” enhances the peer-to-peer exchange of ancestral knowledge and application of modern economic tools. This form of participatory South-South learning is supported by the “Forest, Biodiversity and Ecosystems” (FBE) thematic area. It contributes to achieve the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of both countries in the context of climate change, equitable governance while contributing to biodiversity conservation. It opens inspiring pathways of innovative forms of development cooperation which will be discussed in this session.
