Building climate change resilience and ending discrimination in disaster relief

Disaster relief efforts in South Asia have often left Dalits with unequal access to shelter, food and rehabilitation. Climate change hits Dalits the hardest, as they often live in degraded areas, while widespread discrimination often excludes them from relief. We can build resilience and ensure there is #NoCasteLeftBehind by recognising caste dynamics and including Dalits in planning, relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The International Dalit Solidarity Network is a network formed to push for global action to end caste discrimination and ensure human rights and equal treatment for all.
