Does equality in peace matter?

An examination of the role of inequality in peacebuilding

A report will be presented: "Challenging the Conventional: Can Post-Violence Reonciliation Succeed?" Speakers will present and discuss the report's findings and its implications for equality as a precondition for peaceful, inclusive and resilient societies. Participants will analyse reconciliation processes and discuss how unequal access to peacebuilding processes by minority groups, women and youth undermines sustainable peace. The session will draw on experiences from cases from around the world, including Northern Ireland, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Guatemala.
