This session will address the drivers of food poverty and insecurity. In groups, participants will discuss how to challenge the inequalities that have led to a recent increase in global food insecurity and hunger. Participants will split into groups, assisted by facilitators, with each group focusing on one pillar of food security – availability (agriculture and food production), access (distribution), utilisation (nutrition), and the stability of all three. Participants will discuss and develop new ideas and strategies to address inequalities present within food systems – gender, education and health – for the improvement of global food security.
