TuWezeshe Akina Dada: Enabling Each Sister to End Sexual & Gender-Based Violence

Nurturing resilient African girls & women in the campaign against sexual & gender-based violence for a more equitable & sustainable world

In a world where 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual violence, where 200 million girls and women have undergone FGM, where 125 million African girls and women were married before 18 and where every year in developing countries there are 2 million births to girls under 15, there is still much to be done to end violence against girls and women for SDG5 to become a reality. However we believe that by applying a rights-based approach, nurturing girls and women to be leaders of their own solutions and to transform unequal social norms, sustainable development and progress change is possible.
