The role of international cooperation: Enabling new responses for inclusive growth

The European Launch of the Latin American Outlook 2019 – Development in Transition

Participants will reflect on the new role of international cooperation under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As countries transition to higher levels of development, the focus of international cooperation progressively shifts from the volume of financial resources to its capacity to enable synergies, multilateral cooperation and innovation. This session will help assess the potential of international cooperation to offer customised responses to constantly evolving development realities and the possible challenges to this shift in focus. The EU’s Regional Cooperation with Latin America will be used as an example for rethinking existing structures of cooperation.
