Addressing economic inequality in rural Georgia through LEADER approach

Local community members for action: diversifying rural economy and improving employment and living conditions through participatory approach

Project is implemented under EU ENPARD program in Khulo Municiplaity - a remote high mountainous region of Georgia with low socio-economic growth rate. To address territorial inequality, including poverty and unemployment, we have applied LEADER approach by bringing together local authorities, farmers, CSOs, youth, business owners and other stakeholders under a Local Action Group (LAG); elaborated Local Development Strategy; increased capacities of target groups through various trainings. The Action is designed to increase economic activity and improve living conditions of local population.
