Full and comprehensive details of the services available to the media at EDD12 are available in the EDD12 Media Guide. Should you have any further questions, please contact Raffaele Ferrando (media@eudevdays.eu).
A wide range of services and facilities will be on offer to journalists attending EDD 2012:
A 50-place room dedicated to media where journalists can work will be available during EDD 2012. The press room will be strategically placed close to the main rooms hosting HLPs/Presentations.
There will be two TV screens in the press room, one displaying the new available material for journalists (video highlights, quotes, etc., see below) and one consisting of a Twitter wall showing the main highlights from each High-Level Panel as well as alerting journalists of upcoming press conferences.
Wi-Fi will be available free of charge in the room to enable journalists to work on their laptop.
A 50-place room dedicated to hosting different press conferences will be available during EDD12 and will be located next to the press room.
Several press conferences will take place during the two days of EDD12 held by both EU institutions and private sector representatives (see above, section 1.1, Key media events at a glance, for an overview of the press conferences).
Interpretation services will be made available in the press conference room in English and French.
Several interview corners will be located at the entrance(s) to the HLP/Presentation rooms to enable journalists to get short statements from panellists after each session.
In addition, EDD 2012 media partners DEVEX and Debating Europe will have two interview studios at the venue.
Please note that there will not be any ENG crews at the disposal of journalists onsite.
There are many facilities set up for journalists to follow EDD12 remotely and gather relevant information:
Live web-streaming of all sessions taking place in the four main HLP/Presentation rooms will be available on line in the ‘Live streaming’ section of the EDD website. The web streaming will be available in French, English, and in the original language of the speakers. http://live.eudevdays.eu/
At the end of each panel, web-streaming ‘replays’ will be available at the same web address.
For more information about the live web-streaming, please contact Raffaele Ferrando (media@eudevdays.eu).
Professional journalists (English and French native speaking) will cover the 22 High-Level Panel sessions and gather quotes from panellists. Quotes will be available online in the ‘Quotes’ section on the website.
Please note that the quotes will also be regularly sent by e-mail to a selection of international press agencies and to the main national press agencies.
For any information about the quote service, or if you want to receive the quotes by e-mail, please contact Raffaele Ferrando (media@eudevdays.eu).
Each of the 22 High-Level Panels will be summarised into a 2-minute video to convey key messages and new ideas. These summary highlights will be posted online during EDD12 after each session.
Six professional photographers will cover the main EDD events as well as bilateral meetings and interviews/debates. Edited photos will be uploaded to the website in high resolution (jpeg format) in the ‘Media Corner’ section. Please note that a selection of these photos will be regularly sent by e-mail to a number of international photo press agencies.
For more information about the photo service, please contact Raffaele Ferrando (media@eudevdays.eu).
We will be covering EDD live on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Throughout the event we will post details on the 22 High-Level Panels, the presentations of projects and reports, direct quotes from the discussions, links to the latest photos and other highlights available, etc.
We will also feature some of the traditional stakeholder discussion and engagement on social media before and during the event along with regular news on speakers, panels, and other practical information.
